A Little About Me: Ted Dobbert, LMHC, LPC

Thank you for visiting my website. I take pride in providing a space for people to navigate resources to improve their life, even if not a client of mine, directly.

My name is Theodore (Ted) Dobbert, and I am the owner and primary provider at Rooted in Balance Counseling LLC.

Since I was young, I knew I wanted to work with people. I spent much of my early life growing up in Vermont, and attended a technical high school, completing 4 years of their carpentry program. It was there, that I formed a strong connection with my guidance counselor. Through our conversations about my future, and her encouragement, I came to the realization that I would like to pursue a career in human services/counseling.

It's simple interactions like these, that can change the trajectory of a person's life. I am grateful for the work that I do, and for the opportunities I have, to get to know people in a way that others may not. My hope is that I can positively impact clients in a way that allows them to take the steps necessary to build a life that they find meaningful and fulfilling.

I am a big believer that this life is what we make it, and I am grateful for all those who have allowed me to be part of their journey.

I have worked in the field of mental health services, full-time, since 2016. My experience prior to starting my own practice includes roles in residential, community, academic and outpatient settings.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, a good cup of coffee/tea, and watching football or movies with my wife and two dogs.
